puppet cloudera module 0.8.0

Today, I am releasing a feature update to my Puppet module to deploy Cloudera Manager and Cloudera’s Distribution, including Apache Hadoop (CDH).

One new feature adds support for using TLS with Cloudera Manager. Both Level 1 (Configuring TLS Encryption only for Cloudera Manager) and Level 2 (Configuring TLS Authentication of Server to Agents and Users) configuration is provided (encryption and authentication of the server to the agents). Level 3 is presently much more difficult to implement. You will need to provide a TLS certificate and the signing certificate authority for the CM server.

Another new feature adds support for installing parcels. Just set the parameter use_parcels => true on Class['cloudera'] and the module will not install the CDH or Impala RPMs. You must then configure Cloudera Manager to deploy the parcels.

Support has also been added for YUM proxy, proxy_username, and proxy_passwd.

Let me know if you have any feedback!
